Dear Friends,
we are organizing a one week sailing and freediving trip this May around the Greek islands. This trip which we are running for the 2nd year is a great opportunity for experienced freedivers to start their summer training and improve their skills or beginners to get into freediving in some of the most beautiful dive locations in Greece - all under the supervision and guidance of experienced AIDA Instructor Trainer and multiple National Depth Record Holder (CNF, FIM, VAR, NLT) Stavros Kastrinakis. For Beginner Freedivers with no previous experience an AIDA 1* - Introduction to Freediving will be offered at the start of the cruise at no additional cost.

The info can be found here:

Or here :)

Freediving Club Greece would like to invite You, our selected friends from around the world, to a sailing freediving adventure across the Greek islands. The boat for our journey will be the luxurious Ocean Star 56,1ft sleeping 8 guests, our skipper and your host and guide.

The plan is to set sail from our port in Alimos on the afternoon of Saturday 10th May and returning on Saturday 17th May.

Itinerary

The trip’s schedule will be very flexible with the main element in mind being to run two freediving sessions per day (morning / afternoon) or one long session spanning all morning and be able to spend the nights in safe port. Weather dependent the main destinations of our cruise will be the islands of:

· Aigina with its amazing bays
· The picturesque island of Ydra
· Spetses with its colorful harbor
· On the return leg of the trip we will also be sailing to Poros and Dokos before returning to our home port of Alimos.

The Freediving

Our trip will be planned so that we have access to deep water during the mornings for some depth training and in the afternoon after a leisurely nap we can have another session which will either be a fun session in picturesque reefs or another depth session. These sessions will be run using a fixed line and buoy or if deeper diver and safety concerns dictate it we can use our in-water counterballast system for additional safety.

The sessions will be supervised and safety will be provided by myself and extra Instructors if needed.

Our boat

Our 56,1ft Ocean Star with 5 double cabins for passengers and two single bunks for the boat’s hosts. It offers full kitchen facilities where we will be preparing all our meals. The 56,1ft Ocean Star is equipped with four toilets/bathrooms, fresh water supply, power generator and all amenities needed to make our trip a wonderful experience. During our trip we will be taking care of all the sailing so you can lay back, relax and enjoy yourself. If however you wish to get involved and have some sailing experience we are more than happy to let you help out with the daily routine of sailing the OceanStar.

Fees & Costs:

During this trip we can accommodate a maximum of 8 guests.
Participation fees are €950.00 per guest per week
The final date for signing up is April 15th 2014 but places will be offered on a first come first served basis and are expected to go fast.

This includes: airport pick-up and drop off, 7 days live-aboard on the Perseus, all freediving activities (you will need your own personal freediving equipment – we will provide you with lead), port charges etc.

What is not included:

· Damages caused by guests to the boat – these have to be settled before the end of the trip and our return to Alimos (highly unlikely to happen but we have to mention it)

· Your food – the plan is to do our shopping in Alimos prior to our departure and then we will be preparing our meals at the boat’s kitchen. You are kindly asked to state your dietary needs and preferences at the time of your booking or even send a specific grocery list. The cost of our grocery shopping will be split amongst the participants. We expect that this will be no more than an extra €100 euro for the whole week unless you have a tendency for extravagant / high cost food items.

Getting here

Arrivals for this trip should be planned for the afternoon or evening of Friday 9nd or early in the morning of Saturday 10rd May. Your arrival airport is Athens Eleftherios Venizelos Int Airport (ATH) were I will be waiting to pick you up and take you to Alimos – a short 25min drive - where you can start settling in on our boat. Departure for the islands will be the on the afternoon of the Saturday 10th.

Our return to Alimos is planned for Saturday 17th May in the morning. After this we will provide all assistance to get you to Athens Airport for your return flights.

Booking your spot

Please contact us at info@freediving-club.gr . As you see this trip is a small and fun cruise for friends and places will go on a first come first served basis. We hope to see you onboard the “Katerina” for a week of Sailing the Greek Islands.

Stavros Kastrinakis
