Freedivers in India??

Hello, I'm based in New Delhi and my hometown is Madras (Chennai) and I've been on the lookout for freediving buddies in India. I checked with Barefoot (PADI) Resort in Andaman Islands and although they get foreign freedivers from time to time they don't know of any locals or even regulars. Are there any freedivers in India at all? If you are one please let me know!

Hi there

I spearfished in the Andaman Islands in 2002 when nobody there had even seen a real speargun.... locals were not keen to take me on boats but managed some good fish still on shore dives. I really want to go back again- it is by far the best island destination I have been to.

BTW

I'm planning on being in Madurai (south of Chennai in Tamil Nadu state, and very much inland) in June & July this year. Might be able to travel a bit & maybe pop in the water. Might be nice to say hello & see if any connections can be made.
