Freedivers near Alicante, Spain?

Hi,
I will be staying in Alicante, Spain for a week very soon.
Does anyone know of any good freediving spots close to Alicante, or even better, are there any freedivers nearby I could buddy up with? I am a safety-oriented and experienced freediver, and am interested in both recreational and competitive (constant weight) diving.
If there are good scuba diving spots over there, I would be interested in those too.

Any help would be appreciated!

Try to get over to the small Island of Tabarca via ferry from Alicante. It is set in a Marine reserve so plenty to see underwater and crystal clear water too!
