It's nice to have a complete and trustworthy history available. If we even have a hard time to recall the near past, what's wrong with our memory?

It was listed as a WR on the older AIDA International site.

The old site is still available, and that's exactly the source of the doubts - together with ApneaMania that shares the same database as the old AIDA website. You can see the old list of records sanctioned by AIDA at the link Simos posted:

But when you click the "i" at Eric, the WR status is missing there (unlike at the other records:

This database (ApneaMania = old AIDA) is in fact the only source for the old records for Apnea.cz too, so if they are any mistakes, I have little choice than reproducing them at Apnea.cz too. However, the Apnea.cz ranking permits anyone to submit modifications if you find any incorrect or incomplete results there. As long as the modification is accompanied with a sufficient evidence, it will be approved. The system is open, and I hoped the commmunity would help correcting and completing the data. Unfortunately, until now, it is used only very sporadically, although I am sure that the database contains plenty of invalid data.

Dusting off an old file, I have an article from Mondo Sommerso reporting Enzo Maiorca's constant weight record of 60 m on 10 September 1976 at Ognina di Siracusa. It isn't entirely clear, but I think this extended a previous record of his of 58 m at La Spezia in 1973.

Well, I do not think those were with a monofin, which is what was asked in this thread. Otherwise historical tables of records are available on multiple websites, like the already mentioned ApneaMania, or at Apnea.cz that lists not only historical but also current records of all federations: APNEA.cz ranking - CWT

It shows the 58m CWT by Enzo in 1974

Trux, I don't know if this is already in your database, but I just scanned my system and found a French file with the earliest achievements up to around Genoni's 138 meters NLT (1999).
It seems to be fulfilling. I honest to God can't remember where the heck I have it from, but I can only imagine from Claude Chapuis or one of those guys.
