Hi Guys, I will be in North Shore Auckland, New Zealand for a while starting next week and would like to do some free diving there... I'll be bringing my fins, masks, snorkels with me... but probably won't take my wetsuit and weight...

Does anyone know any good dive spot around in Auckland (within 1~2 hr distance) with good visibility?

Will I need a wetsuit to dive at this time of the year (Jan~Mar?)

Thanks guys.

Try Tiri that's pretty good. To be honest auckland is quite shallow, East coast is the place to go (coromandel is v.good) as for the vis new zealand is pretty on and off but generally west coats vis sucks and east coast is slightly better. Just pick the weather ;)
