Can anyone recommend any texts videos or DVDs regarding physiology and training for freediving? Is there a freediving 'bible' should be worshiping????

Many thanks for your input!

The IANTD: Advanced Freediving Manual is pretty good.

The NAUI: Mastering Breath Hold Diving book is a bit dated, but also good.

Terry Mass also has some videos that are good if your a total newbie. They are a bit too basic for anyone above that level.

Jon where do you get the "IANTD: Advanced Freediving Manual" and the "NAUI: Mastering Breath Hold Diving book?

I bought the IANTD one from a friend who runs a local IANTD shop in the area. You could also order one from IANTD headquarters.

I ordered the NAUI manual from the local NAUI rep, who happens to be in the same tech diving club that I am in. You can also order it from NAUI headquarters- look on their website under their tech diving book section.

I see that IANTD also has full-blown freediving courses that they are now offering. I think they are mainly taught down in Grand Cayman at Dive Tech.

Other good books are Homo Delphinous by Jacque Mayol and Freedive by Mass and Sipperly.

For spearo books I like anything by Carlos Elyes. He has many titles out and they all are good. the first one to read is Last Of The Bluewater Hunters.

Hope that helps,

Jon

yes it helped me out alot Jon

Do have dive deep to find fish up your way during this time year.
I can't find a damn thing here, it's completely dead. I can only take shooting practice targets for so long! LOL

I push my dives to or near my max depth all the time now looking for fish but nothing.
The striped bass schools in the lake are moving so fast that I don't have time even attempt to hunt them!!

oh well maybe warmer water will bring them back into my working depth soon.
