as we are getting nearer to the end of the year for 2010 and Christmas is around the corner some of you are already looking into next year's freediving season and have started calling up about events in Greece
Most of you already know that we are going to be running the 2011 AIDA Individual Depth World Championships in Kalamata in September (15th - 25th) but there are also other events we are planning for 2011.
At the moment the main events in the schedule are:
Freediving Summer Camp in Santorini
21st May to end of June
Location: Santorini Island
Accommodation: Kokkinos Villas (right above our dive site) http://www.kokkinosvillas.gr/main.htm
Accommodation cost: approx €20 per person per night inc. breakfast
Freediving Schedule - daily training sessions, sled diving option. We will also have volcano trips and freediving in the volcanic hot springs as well as trips to the island and to Ancient Thyra (extra trips will have a small extra cost but we are working on securing good discounts from the operators)
Fees: Freediving training weekly fees €300, sled diving option +€75 euro (sled diving is limited to 100m - for deeper dives please get in touch with us)
Water Conditions: approx 20C-24C water temp, sunny warm weather, expected good diving conditions
We will keep a limit of around 30 freedivers training per week to keep things fun and manageable - all booking have to be in by the 31st March to secure accommodation and place.
4th Mediterranean Freediving Meeting
1st Sept - 15th Sept
Location: Kalamata
Accommodation: Messinian Bay Hotel http://www.messinianbay.gr/index.asp?lang=en
Accommodation cost: €29 per person per night inc. breakfast (full board options available)
Freediving Schedule - daily training sessions, sled diving option. Record attempts will be possible in all disciplines. Same as last year we plan to include a series of trips around Kalamata and locations of interest in the area
Fees: Freediving training fees for the event €550, sled diving option +€75 euro (sled diving is limited to 100m - for deeper dives please get in touch with us)
Water Conditions: approx 25-27C water temp, sunny warm weather, expected great diving conditions, no currents etc.
This event will serve as a training event for the 2011 Individual Depth World Championships. As we will have limited places and expect them to go fast all entries have to be in by the 31st of March.
