freedivng in Japan

Are there anybody freedivers or divers from Japan?
I will be in Japan in October, and want feedive there. Could anybody tell me about good places or where can I rent equipments. Is customs in Japan very strict? I will be in bussines trip and probable it is not good idea take my own equipments.

i watched guys walk out and freedive off an island called Karazawa(sp) that was probably 20 years ago, but it looked good at the time.
