I'm trying it right now. My connection speed is crap so it might take a while.

Oh yeah, I forgot you said that at the freeze, you have like a 14.4 modem connected to a soup can and a string or something...

I tried 3 times to upload my smallest file and it timed out each time. I think I'll have to take the card over to Ted's house and have him upload it himself.

ATT said that they were going to upgrade our service around here by spring, but I won't hold my breath on that.

I'm having a hard time resizing the clips for email. My new camera uses different software than I could use with my last two. I'll figure it out- eventually.

Jon

Jon, You shouldn't even need the software that came with the camera. I also have Lumix and computer recognizes the files directly as JPEG and Quick time.
If Ted's link doesn't work for You maybe You could try rapidshare or something like that, anyway please try again, I would like to have this one clip of my dive You took.
If it doesn't work, maybe it's time to switch to Apple iMac's are on sale now

It's the internet connection not the computer. And Mac's crash too, don't let the ads fool you. We have plenty of both where I work. Issues are equal.

All of my files seem rather large because I shoot in HD with this camera. If someone has a suggestion on how to resize them I'll just go to the coffee shop and use their connection to mail them.

I live in a goofy little wooded area that will be the last to be upgrade- due to lack of population density according to AT&T.

I found a program to convert the files and emailed them to Ted and Scott. I tired t email them to Chris, but his email doesn't work and I don't have anyone else's. I also tried, three times, to upload the smaller files to Ted's site and it never worked.:head

I can try and re-size individual clips if you want something specific. I guess I should figure this stuff out and start posting more on Youtube.

Jon

LOVE the video Pete!!! I wish I could figure out the reverse on my software. It's the one feature I wish I had on there. GREAT!!!!

NO worries Scott, reverse is nothing fancy, just basic feature, if Your software doesn't have it - throw it away:t

Now most of them work similar so try this - place the clip on the timeline and right click it, window should appear. Find "speed" and click it. Another window will appear and You should see "reverse", select it. If not, there may bee "100%" meaning original speed. Make it -100% and voila! You're going in reverse

Guys, I am using Linux for years..very good for video....It is free like the free diving..Anyone can do it.if you know how.But it's a little different And it's best thing in the world if you want to use your computer all of the time

I only made my submission video....I guess I should take a crack at an event video, then Jon, so we would have 4 takes on it!

I'm at the coffee shop right now, since it has a MUCH faster connection than I do at home, but I still couldn't upload the larger files to Ted's space- it kept timing out. I did manage to upload one of the lower resolution clips so you can see that one at least.

The program that I found to convert the files on my laptop automatically reduces the to 320x240. My original files are MUCH bigger than that, but I can't seem to find a middle ground.

Obviously, video is not my chosen format so I have a lot to learn. :head

Jon

Alright, I converted each file individually and went to the library and uploaded them to Ted's site. Go on there and take what you need. I still have the HD versions saved and can give them to you in person. Ted said he would help me out with some editing programs so I can do more with what I shoot in the future.

Jon

(always learning)

Scott, I'm uploading software to my server tonight for zman. I'll hook you up with it, too. It has "reverse" .

Still looking for that software.

I checked out the lake today and the Outlet is frozen over solid. I also checked out the river, which is wide open, and it has started to eat away a pretty good sized hole into the northern part of Lake Monona.

I was thinking of heading back out to Nagawicka this weekend to battle with the scuba divers for space in the lake, but it might be easier to just jump in around here and have a shot at getting some fish.

Jon

The program is a little more powerful than Movie Maker. At 500+ mb, you'll need to be patient.

If you want to get in your car, you could have it on CD right now.

So, Ted (unirdna) came through with a program that even a technophobe like me could figure out. :friday

After all my drama I was actually able to throw something together. Here's my first stab at using it.

If it works out I might just shoot video mode all the time.
