As many people I have problems equalizing when in a vertical position. I've managed to dive somewhere between 15-17m but the dives last over a minute, so my equalizing isn't that efficient. In fact I usually just have to free fall for the last few meters going my feet first.

So I'm trying to learn frenzel through E. Fattah's document. I just can't understand the packing though a snorkel. How should it feel? Can it be as efficient as normal packing? I can equalize by filling my mouth and pushing with my cheeks so the position of soft palate should be ok. I've also managed to equalize by useing the tongue as a piston in some way but I think that had more to do with the same muscles that open the eustachian tubes when you yawn.

Thanks!

When packing through a snorkel, you must use your tongue, as your tongue seals & rolls along the top of your mouth.
