I'm traveling to Australia in January and am planning to do some diving/spearfishing. I plan to dive mostly from shore, spearing smaller fish...I'm trying to decide how much of my gear i should pack along...I have a Hawaiian sling, but might buy one when I get there. Also, is a full body 7mm wetsuit necessary? Is used gear easy to find in local dive shops? What kind of fishing permits are required? Any hints would be super helpful...
What kinds of reef fish are common in Southern Australia? What about lobster and scallops? I'm really excited about exploring the beaches and reefs, and would appreciate any advice...
Thanks!
Andrew
