Hey guys, im looking at buying some fins, and a mask, i have a beuchat 5mm open cell wetsuit, and a snorkel :)

So any sugestions on fins and a mask would be nice...

Thanks Waldo

Ice Fins - alien Mask, Sphera Masks are LOW Profile- but the vis is weird to get used to. Ice fins are great. Alot depends on how much your funds are. Cressi 3000 are decent beginner fins.

As far as fins go, it depends on your feet
Either short fat long or fin so a bit more info there would be handy:)
Regards to mask and snorkel im not 100% sure..... Sry i couldnt be any more help :(

Mike, go to The Spearfishing Store all of the masks there are built/meant to be spearfishing masks, and take oxygen consumption for clearing and other factors into consideration. You dont want a big mask like mine, and besides scuba masks like that cost just as much. Go check it out, pick a couple favorites, and then we will hash out the pros and cons of the ones you like so you can make a well advised decision. :)

Thanks guys this will really help me make a decision

Time to do some research!:martial

well for masks im thinking, the Omer Alien, or the Omer Bandit?

Fleshy you think that i should buy the booties that we looked at at dive point?

As for those fins, i like the Look of the Ice fins, but i dont know if i want to spend that...:crutch

You get what you pay for bud. You want to scare fish with big fins then w.e., but Id love a pair of ices myself. I think you should get your first pair of fins/booties at the diveshop and then by performance fins later, especially because you will want those for PADI. Im writing this on a wii, so it took like 15 minnutes lol.:head

Hey! Im bein lazy. Played some DK, and I thought, ''Why not check what those crazy wisconsin dudes are up to?'' So here I am doing point and shoot for the first time since the second grade.:blackeye

lol the crazy wisconsin dudes indeed........ im not sure why im crazy but im sure you could find a few things :) :)

im sure your laptop is right next to you as well....lol

(For those that dont know, Im living with my bro right now in Florida, and I can see his laptop from the couch.):)

yeah im eating breakfast right now i just got back from speed camp, think i broke mt toe yesterday and i cant put a shoe on so i ditched speed camp and now i think that im gona go get the wii from downstrairs and hook it up up here and play some GH3!!

But anyways i think that your right forrest ill get some fins from the dive shop and what do you think about the mask?

Buy your mask from The Spearfishing Store . That mask will work for scuba, but will be dramaticly better for spearfishing. Plus the ones you are looking at are made of a non-reflective plastic, so your mask wont glint in sun rays scareing away fish.

OK sounds good any of thoes Omer masks are pretty nice then?

Any of those omer masks will be more than just "nice" compared to my mask.

haha thats good, i dont care if it costs like 50 or whatever cause im makin alot now at the farm and all, only today i worked 1 hour then ditched work and went boating with colby...oops :blackeye

tomorrow ill put in like 10+ hours and then ill get another 200+ this week :t

Long fins rock!:inlove
I even have pairs that will fit over my drysuit boots for scuba diving. You can use them inside wrecks or anywhere else- if you're careful. On dive trips down south I only use longfins to help fight the currents.

Cressi's mask a decent fin, that will last forever, at a pretty good price. It's hard to go wrong with a pair of 3000's as your first pair- 2000 HD's are a bit too stiff for just starting out in cold water as they do stiffen up quite a bit in the cold.

If you have the cash go for ICE fins for spearing/diving.

I prefer Cressi masks, or a Micromask, over OMER masks. Many of us have had too many issues with fogging when it comes to OMER masks- just do a search on here and read about them.

Having said that, I use an Atomic sub-frame mask for spearfishing and a Sphera for line diving. For general monofin diving I use a Technisub Marina- which is now called the Micromask and sold by Aqualung.

Jon, I next time I dive you you, you have to bring your Alien so I can fix your fogging issue. :) I bought/traded Scott's off of him, I used it that day we were out with unirdna, never fogged. I only used spit and since I did not shave that day was constantly clearing.

I used his Alien in Florida once and I smeared 500 PSI de-fog in it and let it dry, then wiped it down, then gave it a quick rinse. I am sticking by that fix, I believe in it.

I love my Alien mask and I hate to see people struggle with something I like :) I want them to enjoy it as much as I do!
