You can get DivX at www.divx.com.
I think their codec suck though.
Here's a pretty comprehensive codec package:

In rare cases the above codec package might cause some bugs, here is the patch (don't use it if it works):
http://www.lionetwork.net/files/Movies_Programs/Codecs/LH_Codec_XP_FiX.exe

Best place to look for all that :

afterdawn.com or might be some other suffix but basically the site is 'afterdawn' .. loads of info on codecs and the VLC Player will play most files...
