Greek God's revisited

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 60 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
No, No! That was a famous character actor, most renowned for his being the voice of the cartoon "Mr. Magoo" as well as the rich guy on Gilligan's Island. :D

I had the opportunity to meet Tom Hatten, once. He was the MC at the annual formal dinner given by my wife's hospital. It's amazing how someone could be so old and still have a kind of baby face like his. Ah, nostalgia!

darn.. was hoping this thread had some pics of DB guys from greece. ;)

Sara: Demeter was the patroness of generosity in Greek mythology and was much loved by humanity because she bestowed the harvest gift, a great reward for cultivating the land. She instructed the human race in the lessons of growing, preserving, and preparing grain, and was also believed to bestow fertility upon the earth. She is unique in that she was the only Greek goddess daily involved in the lives of ordinary mortals, unlike other goddesses who intervened only to further their own self interests, Demeter was the magna nurturer of mankind, and she also was extraordinary in that she had an empathic understanding of human grief and suffering because she had fully experienced this psychological aspect in the loss of her own daughter, Persephone (Demeter, Greek Goddess).

i saw that one... but Demeter didnt have a nice ring to it.. it's almost like "dementia" :D

I chose Gerion (that's how it was spelt on the website i found it on).

Still read through everything in this thread.. without my boss looking :D

Trying to find the God of Construction now...

Hephaistos! Or in Latin, Vulcan. He's the blacksmith to the gods and wanders through mythology as Wayland Smith, Dennis and that little gnome-like dwarf in Wagner's Ring. Paul Kidby did a great illustration of him repairing the Kite with hammer and anvil and a jeweler's loupe in his eye. See The Last Hero by Terry Pratchett.

Where is my post about the Hebreo God

I can not believe - my post have been taken out

Daniel.

Daniel,
Your post was an attempt to convert people here to what is your idea of a religion. Your post had nothing to do with what Sara was asking for in this thread. Your post therefore was deleted.

As simple as that.

Don't take it personally, you know you are always welcome if you respect the forum rules. :)

By the way, for the aztecs the snake was symbol of wisdom, strenght an purity, so the fundational myth about the Aztlan pilgrims who searched the eagle devouring the serpent in the XIII century is more an Spanish translation of the myth, due to the fact that the snake represents evil and deception. to the europeans i.e. Gen 3 y ss

_____________

Friend did you read very carefully my last post-

Sara was looking for a Greek God or any God

In one of my last post I mentioned one of the Greek God- ( The unknow God)

if you see in Greek History they used to have a god name - the unknow God..

There is a altar located on Palatine Hill, Rome, where once stood the palaces of the Caesars. It dates from about 100 B.C. and has the inscription, ´To the unknown God

look the picture: http://www.biblestudy.org/biblepic/unkgod.html

Im not trying to convert nobody -just talking a litle of hiistory- and about the God I believe- how then they take my post out- for this simple reason-

what shoul I do- open a new tread - is that ok ??

Daniel...

In addition, Deeper Blue reserves the right to organize discussion forums in order to best serve the majority of our members.
