Hello all,

Little about myself my name is Andrew, I'm new around here. I've been browsing the forums for a little while now; figured I'd make a post introducing myself. I'm mostly interested in freediving, but I've got some scuba certifications as well. I've been swimming in the springs around Texas pretty much my whole life but started to really explore freediving for the past year or so. Since then I have been diving some fun springs in Texas and some others in Northern Florida. I'm looking forward to meeting nice people in the online community (possibly locally as well) and hopefully improving my diving through you all.

Cheers!

Welcome to Deeperblue! We have a few members from Texas, and quite a few in Florida. I recommend browsing the Intro and Greets subforum as well as the USA/Canada regional subforum if you're looking to meet up with locals.

Have you taken a freediving class? That is an excellent way to improve your technique, as well as learning some good safety strategies.

Thanks! I'll look around the subforum for other people in my area. I haven't taken any freediving classes. To my knowledge there aren't any freediving classes in Austin unfortunately. If there were I would be happy to take one, I'm eager to learn whatever I can. My progression has been slow so far. I'm about finished reading the "Manual of Freediving" it has been a delightful read.

Hey there, I'm a freediving enthusiast in Austin as well. I got my level 1 certification last April, but haven't been able to do any freediving since then. At some point I'll be looking for a group or to form a group in Austin to do some static and dynamic practice. Would you be interested?
