Greetings from Fort Lauderdale, FL!

I would like to introduce myself and also say thank you to everyone on DeeperBlue! The information, pictures, and expertise on this site is awesome!

I've been hooked on the sport ever since I saw a guy shore dive on Fort Lauderdale Beach and bring back a stringer of fish and a couple of lobsters.......as I was making sand castles. So recently I started collecting all the gear and familiarizing myself with it in the water. I am also getting Level-I Freedive certified in a couple weeks here locally to be a bit safer and capable at deeper depths. The more I learn about freediving the more I love it!.

I have a lot of great friends, but not many into spearfishing/freediving unfortunately. So, if anyone here is local to Lauderdale, Miami, or Upper Keys it would be great to meet up and enjoy the water safely!

Sounds great man. I'm taking the level-1 freediving course next weekend to get Fii certified so hopefully I will learn a lot! Was out today spearing with another Fii certified guy putting in some mileage under water and had a blast. Will be in touch.
