I just moved to Kona about a month ago and have gotten really interested in freediving. I have done it off and on in San Diego (where I moved from) but it was for Halibut, so all you had to do is snorkel around until you found one, dive down 20 feel and 3-prong it. But now that I am on the big island I am eager to learn to freedive properly. I recently bought some ESCLAPEZ fins to get me started and I plan on buying a 3-prong because I think I would rather learn to spear with a 3-prong so when I graduate to a gun I will already know all the basics of spearing. Anyways I just wanted to introduce myself and let you guys know where I live incase there is anyone in my area that wants some company. :wave

Hi!

My folks live in Kona now. I have done some diving there when we visited them a few years back. I can highly recommend Big Island Divers if you need gear. They are more oriented towards us Bubblers but I am sure that Norm can get other stuff if you have a specific need.

As for your comment about wanting company, I am sure that there are LOTS of DB folks that wouldn't mind camping in your living room for a few weeks! rofl
