Hello all,

I've been an avid fisherman for as long as I can remember. Last summer my buddy loaned me a speargun to take on our annual trip to Marathon in the Keys. My first shot was on a beautiful mangrove snapper, and I was hooked!

We are preparing to go back down this summer, and I've been getting all set up with my own gear. This site has been a great resource as I'm learning about effective gear and how to gain more productive bottom time. My buddy and I are signed up for a Level 1 FII course in June and I am really looking forward to that.

Thanks for the wealth of info that's on this site!

It sounds like you're off to a great start. Freediving classes are excellent for safety as well as technique, and they're a lot fun besides. It would be interesting to read a write-up of the course if you feel inclined to write one.

Welcome to Deeperblue.
