Hello to all. Glad to be in this forum- I’m not much for social media but I’ve been scuba diving since 1968. Spearfishing is still my favorite activity. I’ve gotten most of my fish with GSD pneumatics. I was wondering if anyone knows what the mfgs suggested price was for the 3 barreled punto kit was.

Welcome to the forums! Do you mainly spearfish along the NC coast?

No I grew up near Ft Lauderdale but retired to western NC 12 miles off the AT. Florida won’t let you spearfish fresh water but around here they’ll let you spear a couple species. I’ve been going to a clear lake in SC to do my diving now.

I recently went out to the Outer Banks n Ocracoke but conditions were bad all week. I just discovered that the Gulf Stream slams into the cape at hatteras and was hopeful since they call this the graveyard of the Atlantic. If you know anyone going there make sure you bring filled tanks if going scuba- there are no dive shops anywhere on the Outer Banks.

Oh, I didn't know that about freshwater spearfishing. I'm in east Tennessee, and have not gotten into spearfishing yet because it seemed like a bit of a pain with how far I have to travel to dive saltwater. Have not checked on Tennessee's laws regarding spearing freshwater fish, but most lakes around here are not especially clear. I have heard of some nice clear lakes in SC though. What type of gun/spear do you use for the freshwater fish you hunt? Would that be mostly bass and catfish?

Go to lake Jocassee in the NW corner of SC- a lot closer than coastal- has a dive shop that’ll give fills all the way to tri-mix and the lake is swimming pool clear most of the time. You can spear cats n carp. I use my GSD punto pneumatic there.

Cool, I've heard good things about Lake Jocassee and have been meaning to check it out.
