Nice catch again Dave. I loaded my gear into my car for a sneak out early to go diving, thats the advantage of working for yourself. However, my sneak out early ended up being 6:00pm!!! That's the disadvantage of working for yourself:head :head :head

Sam your suit shouldn't have any tears or rips in it after a couple of uses. There is either a fault with it, its way too small or you are doing something wrong. Is it double lined? ie nylon inside and out or open cell interior?

Sam your suit should not be ripping, the glue on a couple of the joins on mine is pealing away a little bit, but the stitching itself is fine, and a little bit of tmie with some glue would sort it if I could be bothered but I'm eyeing up a new suit for next season so....

Are you lubbing up before using it? It really is important with an open cell interior.

my suit is open cell (think its the same as foxfish's imersion camo) the suit dosent seem to small and the jaket is fine it just seems to be the long jons that are the problem it seems to be the nylon on the out side around the seems and a bit off the out side face of the open cell intereior, iv been lubing it up plenty and its been reallativly easy to put on think im going to give apnea a call and see what they can do.

Crazyman, my suit is holding up & I dont exactly nurture it!
I went in today, decided to try around Bordeaux harbour. Not a very good dive, bad vis, no bass seen & a hellish tide running south. Still a good test for my mambas accuracy.

Beardy - Boots cheapo conditioner is about 1/50 of the price and probably comes from the same vat!
Crazyman - I had a tear in my Imersion from Apnea (caused by pulling it on without lube before I joined this forum:duh ) and they recommended neoprene glue, which seemed to repair it quite well. Don't know about stitching though - although my longjohns after about 6 months have started unravelling in one place.
Foxfish - presumably it was a head shot! (what happened to the new avatar? I quite liked it-although it did remind me a bit of that weird film Zardoz)

Not a nice night to be out though... quite a bit of sea and a biting wind getting out. I had ear trouble and torch trouble so I wasn't the happiest diver but on the plus side, everyone went home with something to eat.

Lot of small squid about tonight, but not much else.

Yes - in for a night dive last night - bit choppy but not too bad and the vis was fine away from the rocks and the shore. Andy hauled out a carpet and myself and Marcel came out with tiddlers in comparision. However they will all cook up well, in addition I have redeemed myself with the cats by offering them fresh scad - they have been moaning at me for not diving enough recently

As Marcel says 'Nice to get out again'

Given my previous 2 night dives the conditions were excellent. We were going to go in @ Port Grat, but wind was blowing straight in and there was a swell, so headed for Pembroke. It was flat calm on the left of the Bay in the shelter of the headland, but there were a couple of fishernman out towards the end.

On entering the water I was amazed...... I could see about 20', not only that but the powerfull bulb on my torch is now working. I swam straight into a shoal of Horse Mackerel.

Out over the sand we swam following the the coastline till we got as close as we dared to the fishermen then turned north across the bay. The further we went the more the swell built with the bottom moving at the 20' mark. We turned and headed south again.

On the way back I saw 3 small sole which I left and then came across one which was destined to come home with me (Tipped the scales @ smack on 3lb)

Back in the shallows the others saw a bass and the Horse Mackerel were stil there along with lots of small squid.

Marcel and Ed had a sole apiece as well.

Looking forward to tonight, where? Port Grat?

Nice "carpet" Andy (good phrase Ed, I like that one). Its got very even colouring eh, good to see you've thrown the jinx, albeit maybe temporarily :t

Don't mind where tonight, though wouldn't mind trying somewhere different. Its mid tide rising. OMD you up for it? Anyone else?

I presume you're the one on the left VOMD?

Oh, and PS. Keep an eye out for nets at this time of year boys, quite a few around at the moment, L'Ancresse always has some. Wouldn't want to blunder into one in the dark.....

Right, sounds from Foxy's report that the east coast is out due to viz so I'm thinking options:

1) L'ancresse: Reliable, but boring, same old same old
2) Chouet: OMD has had all the plaice! :t
3) Port Grat: Good for variety but seemingly not quality, yet. Been there before
4) Portinfer: As long as there's no surf running!
5) Saline: Next to cobo, reckon it'd be good amongst the moorings, lots of bait there anyway.
6) Vazon: Might be a bit boring on the sand, fancy trying it at low tide though
7) Perelle: Ed fancies it, nice gravel
8) Behind the Cup and Saucer: Might be a bit deep tonight
