I agree, but if you get into something that deep you loose the sense of rational thinking. Personally there are too many parts to his story which don't add up.
1. Slack water @ Fermain would be about 9:00am and then the tide in the Little Russell would have been flowing North from 10 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon.
2. The wind was in the SW all day about a force 5-6
How in those circumstances are you going to get swept past Jerbourg?
Plus next time you go diving try slipping your weights off and pretend to be unconcious, see what happens. Its OK if you lie flat on your back (assuming its flat calm), but try going into the foetal position. You roll onto your side! Did he really drift unconcious around the Russell? I'm not convinced.

I have a question for all the Channel Islanders on this thread. I'm not asking just to wind anyone up but because i'm too dumb to know the answer myself. I occasionally pick up on jibes between Jerseymen and Guernseymen and wonder if there is any basis for this or whether it's just healthy inter-islandry ribbing? Is it like the ribbing between Scots and English for example or is there a darker reason? I am very curious about this as I have visited Jersey many times and would like to visit Guernsey too. Like I said, please don't think i'm winding anyone up I am eager to learn!

Friendly ribbing!!!! You've got to be joking! There's an F16 flying around the harbour at the moment, I wish it would go and unleash some of its Maverick's on them!

Its french for Toad. I think they're called that because they only have toads over there, no frogs. We're donkeys, because we're hung like them
