I held the sole record at 6lb 9oz for 15 years before local Rod Green beat it by a tad 23 years ago and this is one of two Guernsey records. Pete Garland has the tub (saphire) gurnard record. That one should be easy to beat if you were determined.
Interesting that a Crappo has the plaice record at over 8 lbs.
Wrasse record is 8lb dead (near enough). I had one this year that wes 7lb 14 oz on my scales. Could have been a record if it had been properly weighed.
I know brother Derek has broken several records and not claimed them and I have beaten a couple as well.
How about the 90lb angler fish. Now that could swallow you.
My PB conger is 52lb.

Just found a recipie that i thought you guys might like! Mind you you'll have to pester foxfish to do the smoking for you

Pollack Kedgeree
Ingredients
- 750g smoked pollack fillet.
- 220g grain rice.
- 2 large eggs.
- 2 leeks.
- 55g butter.
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
- Lemon
- Parsley
- Black pepper.
Method:
1: Poach the raw fish in water, remove, then cook the rice in that water.
2: Hard boil the eggs and chop.
3: Slice leeks finely and cook in 1oz butter.
4: Fold the fish, egg and leeks into the rice.
5: Add turmeric, black pepper and a litlle lemon juice.
6: Garnish with parsley and serve with wedges of lemon.
Found it in an old magazine and i love it! I have been meanign to share it with you for some time, and only just got round to it.

We went for a dive at Rousse today, probably not a good idea for me but I managed a few dives before my ears said no more!
Anyhow I speared my first Flounder, 2lb 6oz, Dave had some tasty plaice as well. Dave also had some fun in the tide!

I had a look today with all the gear in the car but also the rods and bait just in case. Looked a bit rough for me so i gave it a miss and went dangling instead. Did get 3 bream though!!
Do farts frighten fish? ( just a random thought I had while going along in stealth mode earlier)
I also had a look at the Knife this morning and thought it looked a bit rough - as were most of my other low tide spots, so I thought I'd try Magpie's new spot at half tide. Vis not great but I did see a couple of small bass, and managed to miss them. Still need more target practise! Also saw a decent sized rockie ( perhaps 5-6 lb or more) but it scooted off through the weed before I could get a bead on it.
Let's hope the weather changes soon.
