I managed to get in the water for an hour or so today, vis was ok but not many fish seen. Just after i unloaded the gun to get out, in about a foot of water, i saw two large fish, i think gilty bream. Couldnt beleive it, so i reloaded and had another look around, but no joy

The Deeper Blue Regional "OMD" spearfishing competitions prize winners will be announced in time for Christmas.

On this coming Sunday, the 18th of December there will be three consecutive polls running so you can vote for .....

The best fish of the year (FOY) winner collects a £200 voucher to spend at the Apnea store.

The best Flatfish in honor of Old Man Dave ... the winner to receive a special trophy hand made by respected forum member Don Paul.

The best Thick lipped mullet, winner to receive a brand new 80cm speargun donated by the Apnea store.

Hello all. :wave I found something surprising and interesting yesterday evening that made me think of you. This requires some background. I had dinner at a place called the Javelina Cantina, here in Sedona, Arizona. Javelina [pronounced HAW-vehl-ii-nah; lots of Spanish influence in these parts] are a type of wild animal resembling a thin, hairy pig (The Javelina - Sedona, Arizona's Famous Pig-Like Desert Dweller), which have become a semi-mascot for some in Sedona. The Javelina Cantina serves a sort of semi-Jazzed up variety of Mexican food and has a décor to match.

Which is why it surprised me that along with the stuffed Javalia dolls and [presumably] fake cactuses usually found there, above the front desk was a painting of a mermaid! And I just had to get a picture of it. The only camera I had was my iPod Touch, so the camera was only so-so and had no flash, but I was eventually able to get a decent image.

But after I started noticing things about the painting apart from the mermaid, I saw that along with her and an oddly underwater prickly pear cactus was what could only rightly be described as a Fox-fish.

Thanks chaps

Im currently sat in our hotel in austria with burning calves after my first ever day of langlauf skiing. Managed 20 km so must have some residual fitness from the summer...

I have lots more daft plans for next years diving, with the little dinghy i now have, i hope to cover even more ground...

I think i will continue the flattie huntin until i find a good size turbo...

I Must thank foxfish for his advice and suggestions for flattie spots over the last year, cheers!
