Hi Colin, it depends on how you want to use it - great for spearing if you just want to put it on and forget about it. but for macro or close-up work, decent framed photos and more photographic use i would suggest a camera like a canon G13 or whichever is the newer one. obviously with a housing too. more money though.Hi all, haven't posted for a while. Was it rebottled to be easier to sell or transport or to make it look like it wasn't French brandy? Or some other reason?
I don't know but I would guess that any labelling would have been done in England?
Lots of St Peter Port properties have large cellars with double opening doors at road level. (there must of been some sort of shoot system)
The large barrels of Brandy were unloaded from the boat by horse & cart & directly unloaded to the cellars.
I can only guess the re barrelling or re bottling was done in there?
In fact now that I think more about it, the large 40 gallon barrels were emptied into smaller wooden casks rather than bottles probably to make them more handlable for unloading from the smaller, faster smuggling boats at their destination.
There was at one time a large industry making wooden casts in Guernsey for this purpose.
