Sorry, I had to take it out to make some room for the hot tub.
I think there is a communal area that has a fridge and microwave, but I may be thinking of somewhere entirely different.
Might be worth giving tony at the campsite a call.

I have just been scuba diving with my spearo wetsuit. Max 32m, in the water for 50 mins. I was warm and comfortable the whole time. In comparison, last year I used it around the end of August and early September and I felt the chill after 20m and became uncomfortable after 25m.

We have the family coming around for tea, so it was off to catch more macs.
We managed 30 pretty quickly, 2 x macs per head, I planed on making a vid but forgot to put the battery in my camera so just got a few stills on Sarah's phone...
It took 15 mins to catch them & 50 mins to boneless fillet them!

Got in with Jonny this afternoon at a favourite spot expecting good vis but unfortunately it was not good at all. Still a enjoyable dive with Jonny as always. Saw wrasse, small pollock,mullet and one small bass. Ended up taking a trigger fish with abit of a tricky shot as I was following behind and above the fish. 37cm and 1lb 11oz
I know there is a recipes thread on here but do any of you guys have any recommendations on how I should cook the fish or if I should fillet or cook whole etc.. Looking forward to tea tomorrow evening

Trigger fish is lovely, some say with a chicken or some like cucumber, background flavour!
I have definitely found a cucumber essence but also a lack of consistency!
Some are better than others...
Personally I fillet & skin them but if you are not familiar with their anatomy they are not the easiest fish to boneless fillet.

Off to Herm tomorrow with the better half, she is planning on spending the day sunbathing which is prime time for me to bail and go spearing. Any good suggestions on where to head out or what to look for, figured shell beach was worth a shot for the flatties?

Took your advice about filleting and skinning the trigger! Watched a couple of videos on YouTube first and it went fine. I was really impressed with the flavour and will most definitely be taking another one if I ever see one again. Cheers

Hi guys, heading over tomorrow to Jersey, bringing as much kit as I can fit in my bag! Anyone got any suggestions for where I should go? Looks like I'll be going it alone, so preferably nothing too far out, but would still be nice to come home with something... Will also need to buy a spear shaft; it just won't fit in my bag...

Seaweed, take a floatline with you and hire a kayak. paddle north and then tow the kayak whilst you dive. lots of options then. the whole island even.

Bass bass bass everywhere! Viz is terrible but there's fish! Went for a surf instead, surfed for 2h, saw 30 or 40 jumping so paddled in grabbed my wand and had 2x2lbers in half an hour, put them back as I was after better sized fish. Must have had 8 or 9 hits and loads of follows, but was using a shad with single hook as they do a lot less damage than trebbles . Very encouraging

I notice that Guernsey sea Fisheries made this statement today....

There have been uncomfirmed reports that there maybe Bluefin Tuna present within 0-12nm limit of Bailiwick waters. This species is commercially protected and subject to strict European controls preventing commercial capture. The Section also strongly discourage any targeting of this species from leisure anglers who may attempt to catch this species. That vid doesn't seem to show anything other than a few gulls floating on the surface but there are numerous report from the west coast potters and apparently a much better vid taken from a wreck fishing boat last weekend (waiting to be sent it!)
Nothing new though as they are spotted most years....
