I'm New to Spearfishing and want to get a quality gun. I'm mainly looking at the pneumatic guns. Looking for some real word experience / advise on brands to buy.
I will be diving mostly off the west coast of central Florida the Homosassa area.

If you like to learn about pneumatic guns then check out popgun pete his posts.

A good introduction is found on the noobspearo podcast they did an episode with a Scottish spearo about pneumatic guns.

Yes, I agree, take a look under spearfishing > equipment > spearguns > pneumatic
i.e. https://forums.deeperblue.com/forums/pneumatic-spearguns.110/

You might also usefully look under the regional area of the forum, as barrel lengths tend to be dictated by visibility which varies from region-to-region (and sometimes day-to-day!).
e.g. https://forums.deeperblue.com/forums/usa-canada.91/
Florida has a reputation for gin clear waters, if that's the case for you then a longer barrel than normal elsewhere might make sense. Pneumatics tend to be powerful (but loud).

Personally I have been fascinated bu the LGsub Manilu because of the build quality. But so far I haven’t been able to convince myself to walk down the path of pneumatics. Maybe one day I might.

Cressi Star is about the cheapest gun you can find at 125$. It worked for me well for many years, in fact I bought another one and had two identical ones for some time. I also happened to have more expensive Mares in the same size. Did not like Mares, though it was supposed to be fancier one with power setting. But it was shooting way too loud! At the end of stroke piston would slap hard and scare all the fish, so I got rid of that one. I think for the price and overall quality among pneumatic guns Cressi SL Star is sure winner.

But then, I eventually switched to rubber. You will too, so why not do it right the first time? Rubber powered guns will be a bit longer, but more accurate (if it has railed barrel), and quieter. Accuracy alone has improved my success rate dramatically. Longer a thinner shaft carries momentum farther by a couple more feet. Things like that.
