New to free diving and really loveing the diverse creatures in Guam. Just went today and swam with two sea turtles! Only had to go down 35 feet to count their scars and guess their age. It was fun. As for the fish... I might get a Hawaiian spear gun thing for a few bucks, just to get some kills under the belt and have a few lunches on the ocean's dime. Other than that, I'm really interested in fashioning my own official spear gun and am glad there are plenty of documented/threaded builds to help me out. Thanks for the help in advance I suppose.

. Quite a few spearos on the forum have made their own spearguns - I'm always in awe of them. On the forum, they are usually built to a high standard but I have also seen some pictures of some ingenious primitive home-made spearguns, made where normal spear guns parts and accessories were not available(/affordable?). Might be worth buying an inexpensive spear gun first to see what you like & don't like (e.g. length, wishbones,...) - but not essential.
