So then all you lovely fit and healthy freediver types this probably won’t interest you lot as you’re all body beautiful, t-total, non smoking, no pie eating early to bed peeps:):):), but for the non conforming few here’s the biggy that I really want to know.
How do you cope with the morning after the night before?:friday:friday:friday
A good hangover is enough to give you the right hump and there must be a heap of different ways that you lot have to help you get through the day after a good skin full of the daft stuff on the night previous.
Whether it be more strong coffee than is probably healthy or 2 pints of orange juice and a jug of raw eggs:yack:yack? How about it? What’s your secret to recovering from a decent hangover?

2 x Nurofen + every 4 hours. The most powerful non prescription drug available!
Foxy, good old Nurofen. Every one a winner.:)

Has to be hair of the dog, down the watering hole for a nice pint.

Greg

Mate it’s a classic but can’t half cause grief if you’ve got to be at work the next day and you’ve already got a mouth that feels like a dead cat is in there somewhere.roflrofl

Got to be the + version though because they contain codeine & that's why the pharmacist is obliged to tell you - you can overdose or become addicted...

how fitting, I am currently suffering from the bottle flu! Could possibly be the worst yet.... damn hawaiian weddings with our open mai tai bars:friday

Woke up, couldnt keep any water down, drank some chicken stock, and then cut open a few coconuts to get the electrolyte count back up.... at least I could keep those fluids down.

Man I wish I'd seen this thread a few hours ago. Mind you I couldn't focus a few hours ago either.... Damn you, bottle monster!!!

roflroflSo we have got a few reprobates then.roflrofl
My favourite has still got to be the warm dark room with no added noise, a hand full of pain killer and coffee.
Oh and a bucket for that just in case moment…:yack:yackrofl

Hydration I think is the key.
So I avoid drinking anything with cola, red bull etc.

If I drink spirits I have a mixer with water. Try vodka with water and a squeeze of lemon. It has the added benifit that late in the night you can stop putting vodka into it, and none of your mates realise your not drinking!

Failing that it is water/gatorade. Dry toast (no butter) or toast with vegimite (yep Im an Ausi).

If that fails just stay drunk!

Lots of water and a couple of ibuprofen before you go to bed.

On the subject of painkillers, ibuprofen is ibuprofen, paracetamol is paracetamol, the cheap own brands work exactly the same as the expensive shiny packets.
The only difference is the delivery system in the expensive brands may be a little faster.
Put up with the pain for 5 min's longer and save your money.

As to the dose, do not exceed the stated dose, it is worked out on body weight and any extra has no effect what-so-ever except to increase the side-effects.

The codeine thing . . . well, there is actually very little codeine in it, but never underestimate the power of placebo.

Oh, black coffee does really work as well, not to sober-up, but to help with headaches.

Or just stay drunk. :friday

Ohooo, Ive tried waking up on a sailing boat in Gozo next to Malta with a bunch of carpenters working inside my head; no wonder since my two frinds on the boat are russians and as fund as I with both beer and vodka... rofl

Well, into the skintight rubber and over the railing for a few kilometers in the big pool. For a couple of hours there all hangovers were gone, but back on the boat they all came back. Unfortunally the only cure thereafter were a bear and some sleep :friday

Otherwise a good ****, cola and films with a lot of automatic weapons will do rofl

Very best regards
H!

Pardon my french; love was what I meant, Podge :D

Menudo is a traditional hangover cure, and delicious to boot. Some folks are a little touchy about the ingredients, but you won't find me complaining :)

Doesnt kill it but it helps...

2 pints of water before bed, and another 2 taken during the night if and when I wake.

But I try to drink some water in between drinks anyway. For, me I rarely get sick from alcohol, but its the associated dehydration that gets me, headaches, muscle aches, dizzyness etc.

But I find a hard dose of exercise for a few hours (running / martial arts) clears it right up, as does a swim / dive for a few hours ;)
