Hangovers, you’ve gota love um!!

Thread Status: Hello , There was no answer in this thread for more than 90 days.
It can take a long time to get an up-to-date response or contact with relevant users.
It would be but I have to stop drinking at least one hour before bed - lots of biological things change when you get older, all of a sudden or so it seems, getting p...d needs preparation & planning!!!

I rarely drink these days and almost never get drunk, young kids waking up at 3am put a dent in that habit. I do enjoy a nice bottle of wine or beer or two once a week with a good home cooked meal. Drinking with food ensures 100% no hangover for me.

I remember when I was in the military I had a few spanking hangovers, the workouts we had to do those mornings were massive. You put in, work your bum off, vomit until you can't stand anymore, then go to work feeling ok, dehydrated, but not too hungover. NOT recommended though!!!!!

Dance around on one leg, fall over, rupture ligaments in knee - no hangover in the morning cos the pain in your knee will stop you thinking about feeling ill.......hmmmm, wonder who did that :duh

Well, four operations later, including a crutiate ligament replacement and no, my knee is still not brilliant! Still hurts, gives way on occassions and doesn't straighten properly :crutch My physio says my knee is a mess and I will prob need a replacement in my older years....joy!!!!

Having said that, the physio also said my other knee is a mess and it was an accident waiting to happen, I just helped it along a bit! :head

Moral of the story - don't dance on one leg whilst under the influence! :t

Well Donna if you look at things from the bright side, at least the the cure for your next hangover is stumbling close... :D

Very best regards
H!

Doesnt kill it but it helps...

2 pints of water before bed, and another 2 taken during the night if and when I wake.

But I try to drink some water in between drinks anyway. For, me I rarely get sick from alcohol, but its the associated dehydration that gets me, headaches, muscle aches, dizzyness etc.

But I find a hard dose of exercise for a few hours (running / martial arts) clears it right up, as does a swim / dive for a few hours ;)

well I didn't take my own advice and had the mother of all sessions last Sat. Got back to hotel at 6.15am ..... had 2 hours and 40 minutes sleep, fry up breakfast, check out, head to the dojo for 12PM for a grueling national team training session for a few hours.... if you don't know kendo it involves getting full force hits to the head and body, people shouting very loud and ballistic movements...

Ah to become daft when drunk ;)

PS I think the hangover is only beginning to kick in today!

Bobdonny

Does "perfection through practice" also apply to your ability to venture into the mother of all sessions.....:martial (the kendo smily)

The most affectionate banter ;)
Herup!

Of course! Anything we approach should be with gusto and to the fullest of our ability... including boozing ;) and I guess... hang-over'ing

best way to go if you know your gonna be pulling a hardcore weekend is a vitamin I.V a day before clubbing, vegas ect... has massive doses of of all the b vitamins plus extra. so not only do feel great after a night of drinking you can drink a little harder dont feel tired.
