Just want to put my feelers out there and see how many hawaii divers are on this site.

I'm on the Big Island in Kona. I'm fairly new to diving but progressing steadily, though I've had no formal training, which is the norm' for folks over here. I've probably never gone down past 50 ft., and my dynamic personal best is about 1:25, but I'm more comfortable at around 1:00. I've never bothered with trying to time myself at static apnea, since you don't catch any fish floating at the top! Anyways... I've got a friend that i dive with occasionally, but I'm always looking for a dive partner.

Just signed up last week. I'm in Oahu and dive mostly around Kaneohe Bay... i took the PFI Intermediate Course back in July and regularly dive to 50' now, and occasionally down to 70'...

Hey Blaiz,

This is Josh from Haiku, Maui. Been diving for recreation and on a line for a few years now. Just started spearfishing and enjoying that now too.

I live on the west side of Maui (Lahaina) good to hear a few more hawaii boys around.

Josh... Do you dive with John by chance?

Hey Blaiz,

Yeah, I dive with Jon. Tall, young haole guy from the East Coast? We've been going out to the Carthaginian on kayaks for a while. How do you know Jon?

There are lots of Hawaii divers on DB I believe, much more than have replied to this thread.

I dive with John now and again. I actually met him at the carthiginean. I had just taken a few of my friends to snorkle on it and he (and probably you) were diving on it roughly about a year and a half ago. I made a few drops to the deck just to see what was around (no gun). He seemed impressed and asked me if i wanted to dive sometime. Ive dove with him about 10 or 15 times. cool guy and an awesome diver too.

Hey Jake,

Spoke to Jon and I remember you that one time I saw you at the Carth, I also remember you had a boat and some cuties onboard! He's a very talented diver for sure!

We should dive once I get back to Maui at the end of Nov.

Hey... take it easy! one of those cuties was my fiance!:t Nah, but yeah definately down to do some diving with you guys! Heard you hit 24O! Thats awesome! Good luck on the days to come!
