Hawaiian sling or pole spear which is easy to use for Wisconsin waters?
Madison lakes, Milwaukee area lakes, Eagle river area and lake Michigan.
Lake Michigan after we get suites. I’ve checked them both out and think the sling would give me more range. What do you think?

And we are making them ourselves.

personally i like the hawaiian slings we use them in the bahamas all the time and they give you a lot of distance and a ton of power. pole spears work to though but personally like i said i would stick witht the sling even though they are harder to use

5ft, is a good length, I got 1/4". Bought mine from Ray Oder (Spearfishing Supplies by Ray Odor)

You won't be pulling the bands back full power. If you do you will go clean through the fish and good chance of losing the shaft. If you shoot down on a fish you risk damage to the point from the rocks.

Like anything else....Practice, practice, practice.

Thanks for all the help. But I decided on a pole spear. It’s 95% done.
Finding rod for the sling was a problem. I found some but it was only 2-3 ft.
I’ll update with pictures later.
