The name's Josh! It's a pleasure to be joining your community here! A little about myself, born and raised in Massachusetts until I was 18 when I enlisted in the Navy as a Master at Arms. I've been stationed in Virginia, Washington, and am currently stationed in Sicily as an military working dog handler on a deployment to Djibouti.

As an aspiring soon to be diver, I've desired to learn how to dive since I was a kid and my Dad would tell me his stories from when he dove. Don't ask why I didn't enlist as a Navy Diver cause I couldn't tell ya, young and dumb I suppose! Anyways, I have finally taken the initiative to earn my certification by completing the PADI online OW course and am waiting to return to Sicily from my deployment to perform the confined and open water dives. My girlfriend, aka my soulmate, is also new to diving and will be learning along side with me! I've been doing a lot of research and reading books to satiate my hunger till I can get certified and diving. So far I've read Deco for Divers by Mark Powell and started reading Diver Down by Michael Ange, both enjoyable and informative reads! As I'm sure you all can tell, and have probably been there before, I'm extremely eager, excited and motivated to begin this journey.

So now I ask are there any other good books you guys would recommend or anything at all I could do to continue expanding my knowledge? My goal is to venture into tec diving, I know it will be a long road to get there and am absolutely in no rush to get there asap, but any personal experiences or recommendations for traveling that path?

Again, I'm happy to be joining the community and look forward to talking with you all!!!
