Hey everyone,

Found this site while doing a bit of research on freediving. What an AMAZING resource.

I live in Mission BC. I'm wanting to learn more so that I can eventually get into spearfishing. I'd like to do start in freshwater if I can, it's closer and and warmer than the ocean. Would love to meet anyone around here who could go out and try it with lake or ocean. Or chat with anyone who has some freshwater experience.

Currently my PB depth is 20ft and my dry land breath hold PB is 2:10. I've started doing the tables suggested in the beginners free diving intro and they are helping a lot! There is so much more to this sport than I ever imagined.

Welcome form Minnesota.....but you are in my home province. I hail from Cloverdale, Surrey. I have been to mission so many times in school for rugby, and of course...the fishing under the bridge for pink salmon.

There are times where I miss home.....and then I take a look at the cost of living.....and realize why I moved. But it sure is nice to visit my family.

Do any SCUBA at all? Used to dive out there all the time

Hey Brent,

No Scuba only tried it down in Mexico...$ is a limiting factor to me getting into it. Eventually though I'm sure I will.

For now just trying to do some freediving and possibly some spearfishing.

The cost of living out here is really steep but hey it's one of the most beautiful places on the planet. I Love mission. I've got like 8 lakes within about a 45 min drive from my house. Most of them are pretty damn warm this time of the year, so no need for a wet suit. Ocean is close too but I haven't done any diving in there yet, only tropical waters. But I really want too, I just need someone to go with me.

How's Minnesota? You diving Lake Superior? I definetly envy the cost of living in the states, so much cheaper down there. What took ya to the USA?
