Hey,

I'm new to deeperblue. I am a freediver/spearfisher and would like to know if anyone could recommend a good 6 or 7 mm wetsuit for Northern California. I am looking to spearfish for Cabezon and Rockfish. I am looking for a good durable wetsuit. Thanks

I use Xcel Tri-density. I like the attached hood for diving alone. AquaLung makes a good suit too. If you are going ab diving or spear fishing on the North Coast, warmth is your first concern. The water is about 50 deg F. You are bound to get a bunch of little cuts or tears in your suit up here. I would go 7mm or thicker. You will want the hard sole booties too for hiking across the rocks and up the cliffs. Don't forget the gloves. I wouldn't skimp and get thin ones either, unless you plan on only being in the water for an hour.
