Land locked....but here goes-
(Scuba) diving since 1994, flirted with free diving a bit, always interested in spear fishing. NJ wreck diving, Mixed gas, some tactical and evidence recovery work, and archeological work. Been a dive master, instructor, and even worked as an underwater gardener while in Texas. 12000+ dives.

Took some classes last week in Maui on free diving and spear fishing. Never got a shot- but fell in love with spear fishing. Breath hold kind of embarrassing seeing the experience level her-- but 60' 3:10 and 30" 3:45 last week in Lahina waters.

Still trying to learn what I can do with this new love where water is brown and temps are in the low 60's. I am an empty cup so ready to be filled with new knowledge and experiences. I have ambitions of stalking and ambushing carp and suckers (only legal fish in Idaho to poke) knowing I will be in a thick wet suit diving in chocolate milk.

Don't have a spear gun, pole, of Hawiian sling- so lurking to learn more.

Welcome to Deeperblue! There's plenty of information here. I hear ya about being landlocked. I used to live in a dusty, semi-arid climate, with the nearest dive site 4+ hours away.
