Hi there everyone.. been lurking here a long time and finally decided to speak up! I'm just OW certified for now but was a diver at a Marine Mammal Park for about 10 months (not as glamorous as it sounds, basically underwater weightlifting for 6+ hours a day, but incredible for underwater experience) and have recently moved to Louisiana to be closer to family. I'm really itching to get back into diving and get more training and experience and am very interested in getting into freediving. Unfortunately even though Louisiana is coastal.. I'm not a big fan of swimming/diving in brown water so I'm settling now for the local lap pool.

Welcome to the Forum, I used to work in La. (offshore) and know exactly what you are talking about "brown water" but further offshore is very suitable for diving. Maybe you could find some folks to go out with. Thanks Bo
