Well I recently joined this forum to learn about more freediving and freediving equipment.

My background with the water is mostly from surfing, Santa Cruz and the North Shore of Oahu. Back in Hawaii nearly everyday in the summer was spent snorkeling, swimming and light freediving, well I thought it was pretty cool to be able to get down to 10 meters at the time.

Anyways, i remember buying some pretty good snorkeling gear in Hawaii, though I only remember the fins being Mares Volo, well I recognize the pictures. The snorkeling equipment got loaned out and sadly never returned.

Now I'm in San Francisco dating a marine biologist and that has insprired me to get in the water. I'm slowly acquiring new gear. Coincidentally the best fitting mask I found was by Mares, I reckon I might get another set of the Volo fins and it seems that Bamboo Reef here in SF had a pair of Mares Razors which fit really well. The price is right and it seems like they're a good choice for an entry level fin.

So water hijinx, starting out at the Aquatic Park, maybe some trips down to my hometown Pacific Grove and a vacation in Belize in the next few months. Maybe try and develop some actual technique.

Well that's a pretty long for an intro and a first post, so I'll end here.

Thanks for the welcome. I'm the proud owner of a new set of fins, now if it would only stop raining.
