Hello all. I'm new to the forum. I grew up near the gulf in North Florida and started snorkeling at 9 and scuba at 16. I'm 71 now and I still enjoy it when I can. Recently I've been diving mostly in French Polynesia and that is fabulous. I also have done a good bit of spearfishing, but I've given that up (for now!). We travel a lot and I'm interested in learning new places to dive. We have a trip planned to San Pedro, Belize, so if anyone has first hand knowledge it would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums! We spent a week in Ambergris Caye in late 2024. Happy to answer any questions you may have. We stayed at Grand Caribe Belize (decent place, though the beach and restaurant were both not great) and dove with Belize Pro Dive Center, who were pretty good to dive with. They also arranged a snorkeling trip to see nurse sharks and stingrays, which my wife likes (she does not dive).

If you are going to Belize, try to get to the outer atolls, better vis and terrain. We went to Light House Reef a couple of years back and found it quite good. Trip report below.
