I have about 40 scuba dives under my belt, and I am slowly learning about freediving and spearfishing. As there are apparently no qualified instructors in Victoria (that I have found) I am pretty much doing what I can by myself. Not safe and not fun, but it is what it is. Any suggestions regarding venues or persons to help me acquire the proper training ON THE ISLAND would be appreciated. My job and my children do not allow me to spend days on the mainland, so Vancouver resources are not really an option.

I should mention, I have been lurking these forums for probably a year, and I must applaud the quality of the advise being offered. As a longtime advocate of FOSS software, I have found forums which offer helpful and non-judgmental guidance to be the ones that stay for the long haul. The open debates and discussions I have found here have been a huge source of education for me, and I hope over the years I can give back in kind.
