Welcome aboard. My last unaccompanied overseas tour before I retired from the USMC was on Okinawa. Beautiful diving.

Unfortunately the reefs are pretty bleached this year. We didn't get any direct hits from typhoons so the hot water just stayed all year long.
Man I wish i could go back and see them!
I had a neighbor in Washington before I moved who'd lived here for several years in the late 90's and her reef pictures were absolutely stunning.
Even in comparison to how the reefs looked a couple years ago, they've unfortunately lost a noticeable amount o their color. The majority of the shore dives have a dingy algae coating them. However, when you get out in cooler deeper waters, it's a symphony of fish and colored coral.
I'm hoping this year we get some proper storms coming through taking some of the heat out of the ocean
