Not quite, Beside Jean Lafitte was actualy a french trader(captian), not really known as aPirate although he did ingage in a little piracy here and there.

I had a pet Fresh water Crockerdile once they get heaps bigger than your little Aligatoirs but he tried to eat my pet Kangeroo so i had to Kill him.
He made some great Boots and Gun Bags.
Sorry dont have ''Villages'' in the land down under i think your getting us confused with somewhere else, Try looking in an ''Atlas'' ( they are big books with lots of pictures) it might help with your problem. ( you may have scurvy)
