I am a PADI Divemaster currently enrolled in a internship to pay off my IDC. Today I did a EANx31 dive to maximum depth 17m at 830am. Afterwards around 130pm I led a snorkeling tour which a snorkeler dropped her fin and I free dove 10.5m to retrieve it. I am now feeling a tight feeling within my heart and tingling sensation up and down my arms.
Suggested treatment???

Get to a hospital now - call DAN if you have insurance and even if you don't . You should never Freedive the same day as scuba diving as it can cause serious problems. This is nothing to take lightly and better safe then sorry

Like willunderwater said - this could be something serious. Please call DAN on +1-919-684-9111 to discuss the situation. Never freedive after Scuba on the same day.

As was said above if you in a dive centre I presume you have dive insurance and an O2 kit so would add that you be brought to the hospital not driving yourself and being administered 100% O2 en route.

The above advice is right on, you can't be too careful with that kind of stuff. Still, your profile doesn't look like DCS should be a problem, could be something else.

Profile? There isn't even any dive time mentioned. It might have been a two hour long saw tooth profile. And even if within recognised tables Freediving could put you into a danger zone.... so I don't agree Connor.

I would listen to all of the previous posts, it could be DCS/DCI.

From your profile, looks like you know a good bit more about decompression than me, but a 5 hour surface interval plus one freedive to barely over 2 atm doesn't seem likely to cause a problem, even if the previous scuba dive was maxed out on the tables. The real point is that the original advice in posts 2 and 3 was good, since "not likely" and "definitely not" are very different things.

He could have ran into problems on the dive alone regardless of the freedive. The freedive could have just intensified the problem - but it could also have caused it. Better safe then sorry as this is nothing to mess around with or wait on.

So I went to the hospital, the doctor said I wasn't showing any signs of DCI however tried to put me in the chamber anyways (Yay Mexico). I denied entry because even though I have insurance, it seems like a very expensive 'test' as they put it. Instead they injected me with a steroid to calm down and I'm staying out of the water for a few days.
The tingling sensation hasn't gotten worse but hasn't exactly decreased. I'm trying meditation to stop my mind playing tricks on me.
Thank you for all the advise!

I would recommend calling DAN, their number posted earlier, they are experts when it comes to diving injuries and deal with this every day. They can offer free advice and give a second opinion..

...If you suspect a possible serious medical issue. Don't post on the internet first, go straight to seek medical help.
Excellent advice. Also, it may not be a diving issue, it might be something else, for example, a circulation/heart related problem (which can occur at any age). Also, I understand that the symptoms for heart attack, for example, in women can be quite different and more subtle than those commonly seen in men.
