I am looking for techniques how to train my lungs or strengthen them to stay down longer an books, classes, or just advice would be great I am a novice free diver, and just want to know how train my lungs to get bigger and how to stay down longer. thanks Dylan B.

Techniques to make your lungs larger...you mean more flexible right,, you can go and take little closer look on some of the threads about packing, and in those you might find the "power lung" that can help you to strengthen your muscles that you use when breathing.
and all around this site...dude this is the place you have been looking for, just go through some of these threads and if you then still feel that you haven't got the answers ask...

thanks for all your help everyone and I have another question or scenerio.

I was wondering if any one could tell me what I do is right as I grew up my method for holding my breath was taking 3 deep breaths and 3 short breaths. I would do this for about 3 minutes I dont do this method fast but slow, and while doing this I try to slow my heart rate down. when I feel comfortable I dive. could any one tell me if this is bad or good and is my method hyperventalation. and what would you call my method if called anything. hope you guys dont think Im crazy just wondering. thanks alot to all. Dylan B.
