Help needed for freediving virgin

Hello All

I am off on a course to learn how to freedive and just wanted to ask some advise on wetsuits. I have a budget of £100 to £150 for a wetsuit to use for freediving. I am going on a course in greece a week on saturday and have been told a 3mm suit will be all I need. William Winram has given me some details of what i'm looking for but I was just wanting to ask about a few models.

At the moment I am looking at the Cressi World Competition 3.5 mm but as a cyclist and a potential triathlete i have also had a look at the orca equip but am open to suggestions.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated

There are quite alot of posts on wetsuits if you search but...

where are you diving i:e water temps ?

you really need to be 'warm' when diving.

In UK water i'm either in a 5mm or 7mm(winter/early spring).

i reckon 3mm ish would be fine in med waters.

Make sure its not too restrictive around your chest/diaphram area when
its on.

Many high chest (long john) 2 pc suits can get tight around there.

5-7mm are the best i would also recomend an open cell as for the outside of the suit if you are new to the sport get nylon as it is tougher the smoothskins are warmer but require more care and attention not easy when new to the sport
