THE ISSUE:

Efforts by the uninformed masses of Club Manatee supporters are dwarfing the response of boaters. We need help now on this important issue. Stand up for this common-sense legislation by contacting the Senators listed at the bottom of this letter and asking them to support this bill.

Without your help, this bill could be killed by SMC's (Save the Manatee Club) emotional PR campaign.

WHAT YOU CAN DO:

Please e-mail or call the Senate Natural Resources Committee and say "Please Support SB 540" in your subject line or when you call. Please copy your letter or e-mail to Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

Let them know you especially support those sections that require the state of Florida to consider and optimize recreational boating in state waters. Tell them that boating and nature are not at odds, and that most boaters are good stewards of the environment.

Be sure to include your name and address on the e-mail or when you call. Thank you for your support and dedication to help Save Family Boating from the self-serving extremists at Club Manatee!

A good email is short and to the point.

Dear Senator ______,
As a conservationist and a boater, I'm writing to ask you to support SB540.
Sincerely,

SENATE NATURAL RESOURCES COMMITTEE

IF YOU STILL HAVE TIME:

This week, HB 633, the companion bill to SB 540, was voted on and passed by the Florida House Natural Resources Committee. The next stop for this bill is the House Floor! Please tell Speaker Byrd of the Florida House of Representatives that Florida's boating families need his help. Please tell him HB 633 is good for manatees and good for humans. Tell him that it's only bad for those that make their living off the myth of the manatee's endangered status. Ask him to support HB 633 and VOTE YES.

Speaker Byrd
E-mail: speakerbyrd@myfloridahouse.com
Phone: 850-488-0807 or in his district at 813-752-5863

Thanks so much for your help and your support for boating in Florida!
