Hi everyone first of all great site wish I discovered it earlier!

Hope someone can help me. I have been spearfishing for 2 years now I have a Cressi SL 70 but I want to upgrade I want to stick with and air gun and was wondering if anyone had any recomendations. i am based in Falmouth, Cornwall and I mainly hunt for bass, pollock, gurnard and gilt head bream in relatively shallow water vis is not always fantastic.

Welcome lobby. Lots of info on here and lots relating to cornwall, plus some expert cornish spearo's too. Almost none use low powered short air guns, that I know of anyway, but each to his own. If you want a powerful pneumo that will hit free swimmers then then you need a dry barrel system. Maori Mamba 90's are the beast to look at first. Try a search for them on here and you'll find loads of info. In the mean while basically an o-ring kit fits on the end of the barrel to prevent water entering and this turns your old blunderbus into a bazooka. Barrels, pistons and spears all need some attention to maximise the potential. You could fit a kit to your 70 but 90's are really the minimum suitable size. Spearo Dave is the UK agent but you can import your own.
