Hi everyone. Myname is Mark. I have had a break from spearfishing for a while with the birth of my daughter about 8 months ago. Ready to get back into it with summer coming up over here. I have a 1.4m Rob Allen gun from when I used to live up north and was spearing on the Great Barrier Reef. It is an awesome gun but too long for what I am doing now which is mostly around the estuaries and rocky headlands. I don't have a boat unfortunately. I also have a Mares Cyrano 1100 which has been sitting in the garage without use for about 8 years. Thinking of doing a bit of work to it and seeing if I can get it up to a useful state. I must admit that I never had much faith in this gun due to the noise it makes underwater and the lack of accuracy compared to my banded gun. From a quick look on the forum it seems that some people have managed to improve on these guns with a couple of mods, so interested in looking into this further.

Cheers,
Mark

Hi Mark, welcome to Deeperblue! It'll be interesting to hear how your gun works with the modifications. Hopefully it works out, which would likely be preferable to buying a whole new one.
