Hi there, I need some answers for a project and I would really appreciate if some one could answer them! Thanks...
1. When diving how can you help to keep yourself from blacking out?
2. Do you have to do anything to check that your equipment is working properly? If so, how?
3. What would be the best thing about free diving?
4. How has free diving changed your life?
5. What element of free diving is the hardest?
6. How often do you have to practise free diving to become a professional? And in what ways?
7. How can inexperienced people get involved in free diving? Where do they start?
8. What would be the most important skill used in free diving?
9. What piece of equipment is used the most? And why?
10. What is the most important thing to do before free diving? And why?
Thankyou for your help, I really do appreciate it! :)

Go on then I’ll play-

Don’t stay down for longer than you feel comfortable

I’m 42 years old and I’ve never had any complaints about my equipment:t

The sense of calm and the free fish, not to mention the beer!

I’ve made A LOT of new friends while freediving and become a better person for it, although most of my new friends are raging alcoholics and I’m now on the waiting list for my 3rd new liver.

That would be the part where you hold your breath or may be the savage drug and alcohol party’s that all us freedivers attend every weekend.:friday:friday

To become a “professional”……..Pass:confused:

Stick a mask on you’re face and a snorkel in you’re mouth and away you go, (but just in case you are for real better to do a course first)

The ability to hold your breath and to be able to drink beer:friday

Fin’s, as It would be hard to chase down a speared fish without them, and you’re right arm for lifting your glass of beer.

Eat a pie for the energy and smoke a Marlboro for the relaxation.:inlove

Hope this helps.:):):):)

Welcome from Texas! I've never blacked out but I NEVER dive alone. As for equipment...wash it, lube it keep in cool dry place when not in use--it will literally last decades. My primary gun was bought in 1970's and still used regularly. I've met lots of great folks here and diving. Just like agressive sharks very few jerks.

Beard, if you haven't already noticed...you need to take a course in freediving to get the answers. We can all guide you once you have learnt all the different aspects but until then, get in touch with an AIDA ran course and work your way through it. This will answer most of the questions you ask!

We all started out as inexperienced, even Podge, many many many years ago.

Give us a yell when you have sat your course & passed and we will all help out mate.

If you let us know where your from maybe we can point you in the right direction to do your 1 or 2 star AIDA.
