...both in this forum and in freediving/spearfishing. I`m not a typical newbie though, being over forty years old and woman.
Ive always loved being in the water, but never had any friends who would have liked diving.Or even swimming:head.Nearly as long as I can remember its been easy to dive to the bottom of an 4m deep pool, or swim under water for 25 m but i`ve never tried any more.
And of course,this is no Bermuda. For over half of the year the water is either freezing or under thick ice. Thank god (or community) there are inside pools.:inlove
But now my long term devious plan:vangry- involving dragging a helpless infant through snowdrifts to pool and learning him to swim and dive- has produced results. My son has gone to snorkeling course with the local diving club, so now I finally can start learning to freedive(and kinda have to, because I have to be able to get him up if something ever should go wrong). He`s already taller than me, and growing like a bean sprout. So I have to start training.
The problem is, there`s so few courses in freediving in Finland. There probably aren`t any until next summer.The local diving club is more into scuba diving. So if I take a little vacation...where should I go?
I`ve been told AIDA** would be a good course.
