I'll be travelling to Honduras at the end of next week and will be spending a day in the Bay Islands/Roatan. Anyone been freediving there that can offer some suggestions as to dive spots?

Thanks,

Scott

update

I returned this past weekend from a trip to Roatan in the Bay Islands, Honduras. The water viz was about 75-100 feet (the best saltwater viz that I have been in) but I was a little disappointed that it wasn't the blue water with seemingly endless viz (I'm told those places existed - outside of the Florida springs).

It was very convenient to shore dive as the wall was only about 200 yards offshore. Unfortunaltely, I did not have any weights and so it was a chore getting deep (didn't hit nuetral until 67'). But overall, the area was beautiful and it was a fun 1/2 day dive.

the real reason

Contrary to my wife's thinking, I did not go to Honduras to freedive. It was actually a trip to build a playground facility in a poor "colonial" outside of LaCeiba.

The young gringo in the photo is my 12 year old son. He worked very hard for the first several days, until making friends with the local senioritas:
